PROVISION OF REGIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES
The Provision of Regional Support Services of the Department of Buddhist Affairs ensures that Buddhist temples, clergy, and devotees across the country receive effective and accessible administrative and developmental assistance through its network of regional offices. This service decentralizes the Department’s core functions—such as temple administration, Dhamma School supervision, property management, and public service coordination—to better address the unique needs of local Buddhist communities. Regional offices act as direct contact points for temples and the public, facilitating the registration of temples, appointment of trustees, resolution of disputes, inspection of temple properties, and implementation of development and welfare projects. They also assist in monitoring Dhamma education activities, organizing training programs for teachers and monks, and ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations related to temple affairs. By working closely with local government authorities, temple committees, and community organizations, the regional offices promote efficient communication and timely decision-making. Through this service, the Department strengthens the administrative framework of the Buddhist Sasana at the grassroots level, ensuring that all temples and Dhamma institutions—regardless of location—receive the guidance, support, and resources needed to fulfill their religious and social responsibilities effectively.
