Mr. R.M.G. Senarathna
The Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs serves as the chief executive officer of the Department, providing overall leadership, direction, and strategic management to ensure the effective implementation of national policies related to Buddhism. This role oversees all administrative, religious, and developmental activities connected to Buddhist institutions across the country. The Commissioner General is responsible for formulating and executing programs that promote Buddhist education, heritage preservation, and clergy welfare while ensuring the proper administration of temples and Dhamma schools. The position also represents the Department at national and international levels, upholding the vision and values of the Buddhist community in Sri Lanka.
